About Saba Center
Founded in 2017, we are a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering New American families in the Greater Houston area community.
Our Story
Saba Center began when a small group of immigrant families in the Greater Houston area recognized a simple truth: the transition to life in America is easier when you’re not doing it alone.
What started as informal gatherings — sharing meals, helping each other navigate government paperwork, organizing pickup soccer games for the kids — has grown into a robust nonprofit serving thousands of families across the Greater Houston area.
What We Do
We run programs that address the real, everyday needs of immigrant and refugee families:
Youth Development: Our Sunday Soccer League has hosted over 20 tournaments and enrolled hundreds of children, building teamwork, discipline, and confidence on and off the field.
Cultural Preservation: Through our Farsi Language School and cultural celebrations like Nowruz, we help the next generation stay connected to their heritage while thriving in America.
Community Integration: We provide job search assistance, résumé workshops, ESL referrals, and community orientation programs that help new Americans build self-sufficient lives.
Emergency Support: When families face unexpected hardship — funeral costs, medical emergencies, or displacement — Saba Center mobilizes the community to help.
Our Values
Community First: Every program is designed by the community, for the community. We listen before we act.
Inclusion: We serve all immigrant families regardless of background, nationality, or faith.
Transparency: We are 100% volunteer-driven. Every dollar donated goes directly to programs and families.
